A beautiful panoramic pastel of a Mediterranean coastline brought to life by waves crashing against ochre-colored rocks. In the background, a coastal town and mountainous terrain are silhouetted against a soft light. This is most likely a landscape of the Corniche d’Or, between Saint-Raphaël and Cannes. The work is signed “J. Giroud” and dated 1922 in the lower right corner.
This beautiful painting is in very good condition with its original frame and is ready to hang. Its original (panoramic) format is interesting; it was very innovative in 1922.
Please note: two small, inconspicuous dents on the bottom of the frame.
