color lithograph by Joan Miró (1893–1983), dating from 1967, titled “ The Solar Bird, the Lunar Bird, Sparks”.
This work was published by Maeght Éditeur in Paris in the famous issue 164-165 of the magazine Derrière le Miroir, dedicated to the Joan Miró exhibition at the Maeght Gallery in 1967.
Derrière le Miroir is a legendary art magazine created by the Maeght Gallery, which accompanied the gallery’s major exhibitions and featured original prints by the exhibiting artists. The 1967 issue dedicated to Miró notably features several original color lithographs.
The composition is particularly representative of Miró’s graphic language: free, organic forms, large blocks of color, abstract symbols, and spontaneous black lines, in a composition that is both poetic and surrealist.
The lithograph is presented in an elegant black frame with a white mat, ready to hang.
