René Laubiès was born in 1922 in Cholon, Vietnam, and died in 2006 in Mangalore, India (aged 84). He studied law, but taught himself to paint.
He moved to Paris in 1949 and began exhibiting in 1952.
he was an honorary professor at the University of Alabama in the late 50's.
He was influenced by Taoism, and his painting is of the mental landscape order, a light painting in search of light, it is indeed a luminous and restful work, which opens to reverie.
