An important sculpture by Takis Vassilakis (1925–2019), titled “Magnetic Evidence”, a model created around 1983 and sold by Artcurial.

Crafted in bronze with a golden patina, this work depicts a stylized female torso, rendered in a deliberately irregular and expressive manner. On the chest is an arrangement of thin metal rods arranged in radiating patterns, characteristic of Takis’s explorations of magnetism, energy, and invisible forces.

A major Greek artist in contemporary art during the second half of the 20th century, Takis developed a highly personal artistic language as early as the 1950s, blending sculpture, movement, magnetism, and physical phenomena. The “Magnetic Evidence” series is part of this iconic body of work.

The sculpture bears the artist’s initials, “T.S.”, visible on the lower part.
