Chippendale Revival Coffee Table In Carved Wood And Black Marble, Circa 1920–1940
An elegant Chippendale Revival-style coffee table, dating from the first half of the 20th century, circa 1920–1940.
The frame is crafted from carved wood, likely stained oak, featuring rich decoration of floral, foliage, and shell motifs on the apron. The curved legs terminate in beautiful claw feet supporting a ball, a characteristic detail of the Chippendale style.
The tabletop consists of a slab of black marble veined with white, providing a refined contrast to the warm patina of the wood. The tabletop’s frame also features carved foliage and geometric motifs.
This coffee table has a striking decorative presence and can be placed in the center of a living room, between two armchairs, or as a low side table in a classic, eclectic, or English-style interior.
