Small Side Console Table Made Of Carved And Gilded Wood
An elegant small console table from the Louis XV–Louis XVI Transition period, crafted from finely carved, openwork, and gilded wood; a French piece from the second half of the 18th century, circa 1765–1775.
With particularly graceful proportions, it features a carved frieze around the middle, adorned with garlands of laurel leaves held in place by foliage motifs. It rests on two strongly curved legs, openwork and carved with foliage, still retaining all the suppleness and movement characteristic of the Louis XV style.
