François Carbu (whose real name was Carbuccia) was born in 1896 in Ajaccio and likely died in Brittany, where he lived most of his life.
He was a member of the “Artistes de Montmartre” association and the “Groupe des Fusains,” and was a lifetime member of the Baron Taylor Foundation. He exhibited at the Salon in Paris in 1934 and in other major cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, etc. He primarily painted Breton seascapes.
