Louis XV Style Wall Console With Mirror – 20th Century

Furniture set consisting of a console table and
a matching carved wood mirror,
made in the Louis XV (Late Baroque) style,
produced in the first half of the 20th century.
The piece features the classic sinuous lines and
*rocaille* motifs typical of the 18th century,
creating a striking decorative statement.
The base features an openwork apron with scrollwork
and rests on four curved legs joined by a central stretcher,
topped by a shaped polychrome onyx slab.
The large matching mirror is finished with an elaborate carved crest.
Structurally sound, the piece shows widespread loss of
its *porporina* (gilt-effect) finish due to age and wear.
The onyx top bears an old, visible repair/glued seam,
yet remains stable and fully functional.
