Superb pair of late 19th-century period oil lamps in Gien earthenware
The body features rich hand-painted decoration on all four sides in the style of Italian majolica from Urbino, with grotesque chimeras, medallions, and foliage motifs. The frame, ring, and four-legged base are made of chiseled gilded bronze.
Complete original glasswork, including acid-etched frosted glass globes and tinted glass tubes
Formerly electrified with period tubular sockets; extension cord and switch/outlet to be added
Height to the tube: 65 cm.
In perfect condition—the earthenware, glasswork, and gilding are intact, with no cracks or chips.
