Girl With A Book – Marble Sculpture By F. Vichi, Florence

Ferdinando Vichi (Florence, 1875–1941) was a Florentine sculptor active between the late nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and was associated with the Galleria Bazzanti, an important center of Florentine sculpture. He created numerous works in marble and alabaster, favoring female figures, sentimental subjects, and compositions characterized by elegance and attention to detail.
