Pair of Murano Glass Flutes by the Ballarin Masters – Hand-Blown Glass, Lume Technique

Elegant pair of Murano glass wine flutes, entirely handmade using the traditional lume technique by the renowned Ballarin masters.

Among the oldest and most distinctive techniques associated with Murano glassmaking, lume work is carried out using a small gas flame to melt and combine different types of glass, allowing the glassmaker to create refined and original combinations of colours and forms.

The technique may involve the use of glass rods, murrine, as well as precious materials such as gold and silver. It requires considerable skill, precision and creativity. Historically, lume work was particularly distinctive as it was the only Murano glass technique that could also be practised within the city of Venice itself.

This pair of flutes features two contrasting colours, one defining the stem and the other the bowl, creating a refined and harmonious visual effect.

Each flute has been individually handmade. Consequently, slight variations in colour, proportions and dimensions may occur, confirming the artisanal nature and uniqueness of each piece.

Condition: excellent, with the characteristics and minor variations inherent to handmade glass.
Care: hand washing only. Do not wash in a dishwasher.
