Charles Valton (1851–1918) was a sculptor renowned for his animal subjects—including big cats, horses, and hunting dogs—during the late 19th century. Trained by the genre's greatest masters, Antoine-Louis Barye and Emmanuel Frémiet, he exhibited regularly at the Salon starting in 1868. On view at Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, 97 Rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
