Centerpiece or ship-shaped planter made of fine glazed earthenware from the early Art Nouveau period (circa 1880), created by Emile Gallé (1846–1904)
This ceremonial piece exemplifies the historicist and Japonist period of the Gallé faience workshop, inspired by Far Eastern motifs and the Lorraine Rocaille style.
Signed in red enamel with the factory stamp “EG” / “Déposé Gallé Nancy” with the Cross of Lorraine
Please note a crack extending from the upper rim beneath a festoon (visible in the photo).
