A Walking Stick Known As A “camargue Stick”—woven Rush Over An Iron Core—early 20th Century
A beautiful, antique walking stick known as a Camargue stick, with a curved handle, made of finely woven rush around a steel core. The intricately crafted weave forms a regular pattern of small scales across the entire shaft and handle.
Beautiful brown and honey-colored patina, with signs of wear and natural aging. The internal metal structure is visible at the end of the shaft. An old fastening strap remains at the junction of the handle.
France, first half of the 20th century, circa 1900–1930.
