A rare Art Nouveau-era ladies’ desk, signed by Émile Galle. This is a superb piece from the École de Nancy, richly decorated with rosewood marquetry panels. Since the base is recessed, rosewood sections are also visible on the desk lid. It is in very fine overall condition and of high quality. Note that the lock on the drop-down panel is not original, but it functions perfectly.
The marquetry remains in very fine overall condition considering its age. It dates from the late 19th century to the very early Art Nouveau period.
Its dimensions are 98 cm high, 50 cm wide, and 40 cm deep, with a depth of 65 cm when the lid is open.
