Chinese Tulip-shaped Vase With “famille Rose” Decoration
A bulbous tulip vase composed of several joined bowls, topped by a tall, cylindrical central neck that ends in a blooming lotus bud. The piece is adorned with a rich hand-painted design in a particularly vivid polychrome palette: cobalt blue, yellow, red, turquoise, pink, green, and white, accented with floral motifs.
The body features several compartments with blue, yellow, and brown backgrounds, lavishly decorated with chrysanthemums, peonies, flowers, and stylized plant scrolls. The central collar also features a lush floral design on a red background. The overall design is characteristic of the aesthetic of decorative Chinese porcelain of the “Famille Rose” type, with a highly colorful composition and extensive enamel work.
The multi-opening form is designed to hold different flower stems separately and is one of the most spectacular forms of Chinese tulip vases.
