Ceiling Lamp In The Style Of Charles X — Second Half Of The 19th Century

A six-light ceiling lamp, crafted from opaline and bronze, whose design draws on the French decorative tradition of the second half of the 19th century, with influences from the Charles X style.

Its classic silhouette harmoniously combines the richness and sturdiness of bronze with the delicacy of opaline glass, here adorned with bouquets of flowers. The piece as a whole reflects the refined taste of this period, characterized by softer forms and the adaptation of grand decorative designs to more intimate scales.

The Charles X style, developed during the French Restoration between 1818 and 1834, is distinguished in particular by the influence of the Empire style, gradually softened by more elegant lines and an aesthetic suited to the bourgeois interiors of the time.

Opaline and bronze.
