A superb and completely untouched late 18th-century George III period figured solid mahogany chest on chest, retaining its original color, finish, and hardware throughout.  
Dating from circa 1780, it features a molded cornice above two short and six long, cockbeaded, graduated oak-lined drawers, all fitted with the original finely crafted brass swan-neck handles and escutcheons. The entire piece stands on its original tall, elegant bracket feet, giving it excellent presence and balanced proportions. The surface has never been stripped or refinished, resulting in a truly beautiful, untouched patina that has developed naturally over more than two centuries. The mahogany has acquired a rich depth of color, enhancing the warmth and grain of the wood—a defining characteristic of the finest Georgian furniture.
