An important Italian painting from the first half of the 19th century. Oil on canvas, signed and dated "N. Schiavoni f. 1842", attributed to the celebrated Venetian painter Natale Schiavoni (1777-1858), an artist particularly appreciated for his portraits and refined female figures, which earned him the reputation of "Painter of the Graces."

The painting depicts a young woman in half-length, elegantly reclining on a large red velvet cushion. Her pose, studied yet extremely natural, features her right arm bent to support her face, while her left hand, adorned with a ring, rests lightly on the cushion. The young woman gazes directly at the viewer, accompanying it with a subtle smile that lends the composition an intimate and seductive quality. Her clothing contributes significantly to the image's allure. The figure wears a light white dress with a low neckline, flowing softly over her shoulders.
