A rarity! A long opium pipe from southern China.
Crafted from a bamboo root with a solid silver bowl depicting a dragon’s head. The dragon’s eyes are made of glass or mineral material. The bamboo root body is adorned with delicately chased silver and gilded bronze “inserts.”
The long mouthpiece of this pipe is also made of silver. An insert may be missing from the base of the pipe (see photo).
