Louis XV Chest Of Drawers Stamped "a. Moreau" – Rosewood Veneer, 18th Century

Antique Louis XV chest of drawers, stamped A. MOREAU for Adrien Moreau, an 18th-century Parisian cabinetmaker.

Curved at the front and sides, it features four drawers arranged in three rows, with the two upper drawers separated by a central upright.

The piece features rich curly veneer decoration, composed of wood in contrasting hues forming geometric patterns on the drawer fronts. The curved side panels extend into small, arched feet.

The gilded bronze hardware, in the Rocaille style, includes sculpted pull handles, lock plates, and corner finials.

It is topped by a molded and ornate marble top, added at a later date, whose shape follows the curved form of the piece.

The A. MOREAU is visible on the upper part of the structure.

A Parisian piece characteristic of the mid-18th century, notable for its modest proportions, its ornate design, and the presence of the mark of a renowned cabinetmaker.
