A large walnut shelf with sinuous lines, consisting of two identically shaped elements arranged at an angle. The element perpendicular to the wall, made entirely of walnut, serves as the shelf surface; the element flush against the wall, on the other hand, serves a primarily decorative function. The latter features a purplish-red lacquered background from which white figurines inspired by classical antiquity emerge, while the lower edge, which abuts the wall, is embellished with a white Greek fret. A refined example of high-quality Italian craftsmanship. Italy, 1950s.
