Walnut Gondola Chairs, Veneto, Early 19th Century.
Set of six walnut gondola chairs, Charles X period. The characteristically enveloping backrest features a decorative carving in the center, the legs are saber-shaped, and the seat can be removed from the rest of the frame. Beautiful white, pink, and gold striped fabric with colorful plant-like decorations. Veneto, early 19th century.
Condition: Generally good. The frames are sound, with previous restorations (see photo). The fabric is in good condition, with no holes or tears, and only a few light stains that do not obscure the appearance. Signs and wear are due to use and age.
