Gabriella Crespi (1922-2017) was an Italian designer trained at the Polytechnic University of Milan. She began her career in the 1950s, creating furniture and objets d'art characterized by clean, geometric lines. Embracing the "hippie chic" aesthetic, she regularly used natural materials such as rattan, bamboo, and wicker. She gained renown and worked for many famous figures, from Grace Kelly to the Shah of Iran. In the 1960s, she began a collaboration with the House of Dior, initially creating home accessories and tableware, and then, from the 1970s onward, producing furniture. From the 1980s onwards, for nearly 20 years, she went on a spiritual retreat in India before resuming artistic collaborations in fashion and design during the last decade of her life.
