This impressive set, consisting of a crystal bowl and two vases mounted in gilded bronze, is attributed to the Cristallerie de Clichy (1842–1895).
The crystal is supported by a sumptuous gilded bronze setting; the quality and delicacy of the engraving highlight the opulence of this composition, offering a true glimpse into the production of the French luxury industry in the second half of the 19th century.
Founded in 1844, the Cristallerie de Clichy-la-Garenne established itself from the beginning of the Second Empire as one of France’s leading crystal manufacturers !
Unfortunately, the company did not sign its creations; they were identified only by a label that has often since disappeared.
Its numerous participations in the World’s Fairs that punctuated the second half of the 19th century were, moreover, always crowned with success.
Innovative, the Clichy Crystal Factory was able to benefit from several complementary and decisive factors, including the technological and scientific advancements of the 19th century, before finally shutting down its furnaces in 1895.
