Set Of 8 Harry Bertoia Model 420 Chairs – Knoll International – 1950s Design
Set of eight Harry Bertoia chairs – Knoll International
Set of eight Model 420 chairs, designed by Harry Bertoia for Knoll International.
The seat and backrest are formed from welded steel wire, supported by a tubular chrome-plated metal base.
Each chair bears the Knoll logo stamped on the frame, certifying that it was produced by the company.
Harry Bertoia designed this series of chairs for Knoll in the early 1950s.
Model 420, also known as the Bertoia Side Chair, has become one of the iconic designs of postwar American design.
The eight chairs are offered as a single set.
They show signs of wear, as well as some traces of oxidation and pitting on the chrome, visible in the photographs.
