Large crowned Virgin Mary with Child, holding a bunch of grapes. She is carved from a high-density oak log. Given the quality of the wood, the patina, and the weathering at the base, it was likely placed in a sheltered niche on the exterior of a building. Its base shows signs of exposure to the elements. Minor imperfections and missing parts (crown, toes, etc.) are visible in the photos. France, late 18th century.
