Antique Bamboo Storage Chest (china)
An antique Chinese storage chest made of woven bamboo and rattan, dating from approximately 1880–1890. This spacious chest is handcrafted from woven bamboo strips and was originally used to store clothing or household linens. The handles on either side suggest that it may also have served as a travel trunk. Its structure is reinforced with split bamboo strips at the base, the underside of the lid, and the corners.
