Antique Eclectic Mirror Mahogany Wood Italy XIX Century Original
A late 19th-century freestanding mirror, an emblematic example of the eclectic taste of the era. Featuring a sturdy architectural structure, the frame has a double arch at the top, surmounted by a hexagonal medallion with a painted blue background, embellished with carved and gilded cherubs. The upper corners feature facing dragons, also carved and gilded, while the sides display Gothic-style details such as turrets and additional dragons. There are also two coats of arms, including one of the Visconti family, which lend the piece an air of nobility. The mirror is veneered in mahogany with painted and gilded sections, and some areas of the gilding have been touched up to preserve its original vibrancy.
