Henriette Marie Louise Daveau (Mazé-Milon, Maine-et-Loire, November 17, 1936 – Ancenis, Loire-Atlantique, April 10, 2020)

A beautiful, large composition featuring an imposing tin-plated copper kettle with warm highlights, flanked by a earthenware bowl filled with apples and a teacup. The entire scene rests on a traditional checkered tablecloth. A very warm and inviting piece, ideal for a charming kitchen or dining room setting. Presented in its original wide frame made of weathered wood.

This work comes from the dispersal of the studio collection of Henriette Marie-Louise DAVEAU (1936–2020). Born in Mazé-Milon (Maine-et-Loire), she lived in Ancenis (Loire-Atlantique) until the end of her life. The artist follows in the tradition of the intimist painters of the mid-20th-century French school. Preserved in their original whitewashed wooden frames, her paintings reflect her everyday world and her mastery of the oil-on-panel technique.
