Large etching and chisel engraving from the mid-eighteenth century (circa 1740-1750), based on the famous composition by Charles Le Brun
The triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem (Sunday of Palm Sunday).
The painter (after): Charles Le Brun (1619-1690), first painter of King Louis XIV. Engraved mention: "Invenit and pinxit by M.re Le Brun."
Engraver Charles-Louis SIMONNEAU (1645-1728), known as Simonneau the Elder, engraver
The King's Cabinet engraved plaque towards 1688-1690 Engraved mention: "Drawn and engraved by Charles Simonneau."
Publisher: Étienne Charpentier (active on rue Saint-Jacques in Paris from 1736). Mention: "in Paris at Charpentier rue St Jacques au Coq with Privilege of the King."
Dedicated to Jérôme d'Argouges Hyeronimo d'Argouges Advisor to the King, Master of Requests and Civil Lieutenant of the Châtelet de Paris. Its coat of arms is in the centre of the inscription cartridge.
Complete lower margin containing biblical quotations from the book of Zechariah (9:9) in Latin ("Exulta satis Filia Sion" on the left and in French Fille de Sion rejoice. on the right, framing the armored cartridge.

Proof well drawn, complete with its original margins. Note the tiny presence of freckles mainly located in the upper part of the sky and on the right side as well as a natural yellowing of the paper linked to age No tearing or lack in the engraved pattern
