Ignacio GALLO was born in May 1887 in Valladolid. In 1902 and 1903, Gallo attended advanced courses at an art school. As a sculptor, he received a second-class prize and, the following year, a special distinction from the municipality and the province. In Paris, between 1910 and 1935, he devoted himself to creating numerous Art Deco-style sculptures featuring motifs such as bathers, dancers, nudes, and pagan goddesses, which he often had cast at Marcel Guillemar’s foundry. In Paris, he joined a small group of friends from Valladolid, including the violinist Julián Jiménez, the painter Eduardo García Benito, and the sculptor Mariano Alonso Izquierdo.
