Superb sculpture in heavy pewter, signed “P.AUBE” and engraved underneath “Thiébaut Frères Fondeurs Paris”. Jean-Paul Aube, 1837-1916. The Thiébaut Frères foundry was one of the most important art foundries in France during the 19th and 20th centuries. Their creations can be seen throughout the world. Their castings adorn dozens of Parisian squares and gardens, including the Place de la République, the Place de la Nation, and the Place Vendôme. Height: 12 cm, Length: 17 cm.
