Pair of lacquered and gilded wooden angels.
Period: 18th century, Venetian Baroque.
Material: Carved wood, lacquered ivory white with traces of gilding.

Description:
A rare and striking pair of angels kneeling in adoration, with large, outstretched wings finely carved to resemble feathers. Gentle, oval faces with sculpted wavy hair; soft, natural drapery that follows the kneeling posture atop a cloud with scrollwork. Hands crossed over the chest in a prayerful gesture, with one angel’s hand outstretched.
Original ivory-colored lacquer with a beautiful patina of age and traces of gilding still visible on the collar. A striking sculpture with a strong decorative impact, typical of an altar, ideal for an entryway, library, or private chapel.

Condition: Good for its age. Original lacquer with patina; minor chips and wear consistent with its age. A few cracks due to wood shrinkage and small chips on the fingers. Removable wings. Solid and stable structure.
