A majestic and monumental pair of lions carved from Carrara marble.
Period: Late 19th century, circa 1880–1900.
Provenance: Veneto.

Material: White Carrara marble sculpted in the round, entirely handcrafted.

Description:
A pair of crouching lions in a symmetrical, mirror-image sentinel pose. Powerful and naturalistic in form, with flowing manes richly detailed in curls, expressive muzzles, and powerful paws with well-defined claws. Each lion rests on a solid rectangular marble base.
Ideal as entrance lions for a villa, monumental gate, park, garden, or grand staircase. Highly striking and visually dramatic.

Width: 70 cm
Height: 83 cm

Weight: Approximately 500 kg each.

Condition: Good. Patina from age with moss and signs of outdoor exposure, consistent with the period. Natural veining and small cracks in the marble. No significant breaks.
