Neoclassical Empire-style Table Lamp In White Lacquered Wood And Brass By Maison Le Dauphin, Circa 1970
Elegant Neoclassical-style table lamp inspired by the Empire style, crafted by the renowned French lighting manufacturer Maison Le Dauphin in the 1970s.
This architectural design features a smooth, column-shaped shaft made of turned wood, finished with a satin lacquer in a cream/off-white color. The column rests on a quadrangular base accented with gilded brass rings.
What makes this piece unique is its refined decoration: a finely chiseled brass laurel wreath applied in relief to the base of the column, an iconic symbol of First Empire decorative style.
The lamp is topped with its original, slightly conical lampshade. The interior of the lampshade is gilded, diffusing a warm, subdued ambient light.
A high-quality piece, representative of French chic and Hollywood Regency-style decor.
Features the original Le Dauphin manufacturer’s label with a stylized letter “D” beneath the base.
Electrics are, of course, in working order; the lacquer is well-preserved; the lampshade’s gilded interior is immaculate; very slight signs of wear.
