Adrien Audoux & Frida Minet Low Bamboo And Wrought-iron Sideboard Circa 1950
An elegant, modernist two-door low sideboard from the 1950s attributed to the famous French designers Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet, recognizable by its V-shaped base, produced by Vibo.
This iconic piece of furniture, representative of the so-called French Riviera style or the Brutalist movement, stands out for its high-quality craftsmanship using natural materials and transports us back to the atmosphere of the French Riviera in the 1950s.
Front and structure: Fully clad in vertically arranged split bamboo half-canes, offering a superb graphic design and a warm, original blond patina.
Base: An inverted “V”-shaped bamboo base, reinforced at the base with woven rattan bindings. A strong visual signature of the design duo.
Metalwork: Magnificent hinges, ornate hinge plates, and original black wrought-iron lock plates, creating a contrast that lends the piece a great deal of character.
Interior Layout & Functionality:
The interior features a dual storage compartment separated by a central divider, each equipped with a removable shelf. The piece comes with its two original keys, and both locks are fully functional. The light wood interior is clean, sound, and well-maintained, showing only a few slight and normal signs of wear (visible in the photos).
Stable, sturdy piece in excellent original condition. Ideal for adding a warm, vintage touch to a contemporary interior (hallway cabinet, living room sideboard, or TV stand).
