Andirons With Roaring Lions In Gilded Bronze

Firedog made in the 19th century in gilded bronze representing an impressive pair of roaring lions in symmetry on the uprights, guardians of the fire standing with their front paws resting on a mascaron, the whole decorated with various decorations of gadroons, acanthus leaves, shells, finely chiseled volutes.
The two uprights are connected by a bar presenting in its center a magnificent rocaille shell.
The uprights slide on the central bar allowing a precise adaptation to the width of the fireplace.
