Exceptional contemporary Murano art glass vase, hand-blown and richly decorated in vibrant shades of cobalt blue, red, white and touches of gold.

The vase has a distinctive rounded, bulbous form with a gently rounded rim. Its surface is composed of layers of coloured glass and fused canes, creating a highly graphic geometric decoration. Repeated elongated motifs, floral-like details and contrasting horizontal bands cover the entire body.

The decoration is enhanced by extensive battuto work, a traditional Murano cold-working technique in which the glass surface is carefully ground and carved to reveal and accentuate the colours beneath. The result is a remarkable interplay of polished and matte surfaces, giving the vase depth, texture and luminosity.

The piece is signed and numbered 1/1 at the base: “Schiavon Murano 1/1”, confirming its status as a unique work.

A striking and highly decorative example of contemporary Murano glass, combining traditional Venetian craftsmanship with a bold, sculptural aesthetic.
