SET OF 10 PARK POSTS
16th–17th century
Light-colored Vosges sandstone
Provenance: Entrance to a park near Saint-Dié-des-Vosges
10 stone posts with a beautiful patina, featuring diamond-pointedtops.
Arranged in a straight line with a spacing of 2 m to 2.50 m between each post.
This results in a single continuous run of 20 to 25 m
Or two aligned rows, each about ten meters long.
The spacing between each post can be increased to 2.80 m or 3 meters
The posts’ 20 to 22 cm cross-section allows for this without compromising aesthetics.
This amounts to about 30 meters Or 2 x 15 m to line a path on both sides.
The posts are connected to each other by square-section wooden beams—with or without stone bases

Notches have been carved into the stone to allow for the placementof the wooden rails
as well as their replacement over time.
Visual height: 1.20 m
Cross-section: 20 to 22 cm
The posts are slightly longer to allow them to be anchored to the ground
Anchoring the posts in a buried concrete foundation is recommended for greaterstability.

Traditionally hand-cut, retaining traces of the tools used inits production: chisels, a step chisel, a bush hammer, and a rail chisel...
A few routine repairs will be carried out before delivery by ourstone-cutting workshop.

but our carpenter/joiner can certainly provide sturdy anddurable pieces made of oak or Douglas fir
cut to your desired size and spacing (quote available upon request)
