A Set Of Mid-century Ceramic Table Lamp And Bowl 1960s
Artist: Fratelli Fanciullacci
A set consisting of a mid-century Italian table lamp and ceramic bowl,
designed by Fratelli Fanciullacci, 1960s
A highly decorative table lamp with clean lines, accompanied by a matching ceramic bowl, in shades of terracotta, off-white, and gold.
Both pieces feature the same motif depicting a pair of stylized horses, with a three-dimensional effect.
The surface is ribbed; only the horses’ manes are smooth and gilded.
The terracotta-colored silk lampshade by Dedar matches perfectly and complements the set beautifully.
The ceramic is glazed and in perfect condition.

The Fanciullacci ceramics factory was founded in 1862 on the small island of Capraia, north of Elba, between Corsica and Italy. Around 1911, the company moved its factory to Montelupo to facilitate the distribution of its products by rail. Its 1914 catalog featured more than 1,000 different models. Before joining Bitossi in 1935, Aldo Londi worked for Fanciullacci. The company produced ceramics in many different styles and closely followed the trends and tastes of the time.
In 1966, the decision was made to expand and open an additional factory in Florence, a move that proved to be its undoing: demand for ceramics had stagnated in Europe, and the company’s heyday was over. Artistic quality declined, and all operations ceased in 1988.
Here are a few other ceramic artists who worked for Fanciullacci:
Vincenzo Ossani
Lorenzo and Giovacchino Canneri
Dino and Mario Scappini
Bruno Bagnoli
Benvenuto Staderini
