Louis XV-era Cherry Wood Stocking Frame

A Louis XV-era cherry wood chest of drawers, dating from the 18th century, featuring a beautiful, warm patina and a particularly decorative front.

This piece opens with two large doors one above the other, separated by two drawers running along the bottom.

The doors are adorned with molded panels featuring scalloped edges, embellished with volutes, while the upper crossbar features a discreet diamond-pattern inlay.

The front is embellished with beautiful cut-metal lock plates, which are also found on the two drawers. The long, exposed metal pins emphasize the piece’s antique and regional character.

The generously overhanging, molded cornice lends the piece a striking presence. The lower section rests on curved legs framing a scalloped and carved crossbar.

The interior offers ample storage space with multiple levels.

The interior of the doors and some of the shelves feature antique fabric lining.

A piece of character, with generous proportions, whose light color and patina particularly highlight the wood’s grain.
