18th-century Lyon-style Sideboard In Walnut
A beautiful Lyon-style sideboard made of solid walnut, featuring two molded and richly carved doors on the front.
The front, with its distinctive architectural design, features scalloped panels with dynamic moldings, embellished at the bottom with carved shell and foliage motifs. The spandrels are adorned with foliage scrolls, while the central and side posts feature carved decoration that emphasizes the piece’s elegance and strength.
The piece rests on short, slightly arched legs, connected by a low, carved and scalloped crossbar.
It is topped by a beautiful, thick (5 cm) tabletop made of Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d’Or marble, a regional material that is particularly well-suited to the piece’s Lyon origins.
