Bronze plaque signed by Constantin Meunier, titled *The Miner* or *Taymans Plaque*. The work was commissioned by coal merchant Edouard Taymans as a gift for his customers. The commission dates from 1904, one year before the artist’s death. The quality of the casting is excellent, as is the patina. This plaque was cast until World War II; later editions are of inferior quality.
