17th-century Louis XIII sideboard in solid walnut.
This magnificent piece rests on four straight, square-section legs and is framed by a wide molding along its lower section.
The front features two doors, each decorated with seven small rectangular panels with heavily molded edges; four are arranged horizontally, and the three central ones vertically.
The upper section features three drawers, including a smaller one in the center. Two wrought-iron clasps and a button are used to open them.
A thick, molded strip separates the row of drawers from the two doors.
The sides of this piece are also intricately crafted and adorned with four vertical rectangular panels surmounted by a fifth, arranged horizontally.
The piece is topped by a wooden tabletop featuring beautiful molding on the three main sides.
The backs are in good condition; the piece has a few minor repairs typical of its age, primarily fillings made with hard wax to preserve as much of its authenticity as possible.
As a reminder, this piece dates from the first half of the 17th century and is in remarkable condition for its age.
