Standing Buddha Statue Gilded In Bronze, 19th Century.
Richly adorned standing Buddha in the Rattanakosin style, 19th century;
He is depicted in the classic double Abhaya-mudrâ posture, with both hands raised toward the viewer in a gesture of reassurance and protection.
He is adorned with his royal regalia in princely style: he wears a tall, pointed tiara flanked by characteristic side wings and is clad in ceremonial monastic robes.
Good overall condition for its age. Beautiful patina preserving significant remnants of its gold leaf gilding. Note normal signs of wear, notably the slightly worn upper tip of the tiara.
Residues of the original refractory clay core are present between the legs, attesting to its traditional lost-wax casting technique.
H 30 cm.
