Set Of 4 Louis XVI-style Medallion Armchairs Made Of Carved Wood And Upholstered With Tapestry

Large solid-wood armchairs, richly lacquered andfinely carved.
The medallion-shaped backs are edged with a row of beadsreminiscent of the gilded tacks that hold the tapestry in place, and acanthus leavestopped with a knot.
The armrest heads and supports, accented withrows of pearls, are carved with acanthus leaves.
The wide seat rests onfluted legs adorned with water leaves.
The crossbars, curved on the front andsides, are carved with short, serrated fluting surrounding twoflowers in a rectangular cartouche at the center.
The petit point tapestries, with very fresh colors ona beige background, depict flower-filled baskets surrounded by two rows of garlandsof flowers. The back is made of small-checkered canvas.
