Gilded, Carved Frame
A beautiful mirror frame, Central Italy, 18th century.
The frame is made of carved wood gilded with gold leaf, with silver-plated details, and is embellished with rich carved decoration. The upper section features a sumptuous cornice dominated by an elegant draped canopy, surmounted by a foliate pediment, beneath which three cherub heads emerge. The upper sides feature elaborate scroll motifs, acanthus leaves, and large carved flowers, while additional hanging floral bouquets adorn the side panels.
