Rare Georgian Verge Pocket Watch Mov By "bonnet", London, Ca. 1730

Artist: Bonnet
English movement and brass case for the French market with a rare front-winding mechanism.

The movement is fully gilt and features square pillars and a magnificent D-shaped cock characteristic of the period, with intricate engraving  of the clock maker BONNET in London.

The original enamel dial has a very slight repair between the 50 and 55 minute markers.

It runs perfectly, and once wound, the mainspring unwinds completely with good balance wheel amplitude and accuracy.

The case shows slight signs of wear on the gilding but no dents... original domed crystal.

This watch is a perfect fit for the wooden and gilded leather watch holder featured in our gallery and sold separatly.
