" Silver Onion Watch With Alarm, Louis XV Period, By (debeu In Paris)"
Magnificent Louis XV period silver onion-shaped watch with alarm, by Jacques Debeu in Paris. He lived on Rue Beaubourg. The enamel dial features Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes. It has Louis XV style gold hands and a central steel alarm hand.
The beautiful gilt brass movement has a verge escapement, chain, fusee, large rooster decorated with intertwined foliage, and an alarm bell fixed to the back of the case.
The very fine silver case has a decorative opening for the alarm sound.
It is in very good original condition.
